New Quay

There are three beaches at New Quay - Harbour Beach is a designated Blue Flag beach. Dogs are allowed on Dolau Beach and Traeth Gwyn all year round. Great for fish and chips and ice cream.

Penbryn

A beautiful, sandy beach, Penbryn is managed by the National Trust. Parking is at the top of the hill, and is free for National Trust members. Enjoy a scenic stroll down to the beach through the woods, with access to the costal path.

Poppit Sands

A sandy beach, backed by dunes, Poppit sands is a blue flag bathing beach. Dogs are allowed on sections of the beach all year round and the car park and café are just across the road.

Mwnt

Mwnt is a sandy cove, owned by the National Trust. Steep steps leading to the beach make it unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. A well-trodden path circles Foel y Mwnt, leading to the top of the hill which overlooks the beach.

Aberporth

(13 miles, 28 minute drive)

 

Aberporth is a coastal village with two sheltered, sandy beaches, with rock pools exposed at low tide. Swimming is considered safe here and there is a relatively easy costal walk to Tresaith. Dogs are allowed on Dyffryn Beach.

Llansteffan

(22 miles, 44 minute drive)

 

Llansteffan is a picturesque village on the banks of the River Tywi. The beach is a sweeping expanse of golden sand and dogs are allowed on part of the beach all year round. Llansteffan Beach is known for its cleanliness and safety.
